CAPS Australia Digs Deep To Assist Red Cross Relief Efforts For The Philippines Typhoon Disaster - CAPS

Posted on 21st February 2014 in

CAPS organises an appeal to help those affected by the catastrophic typhoon in the Philippines.

Headed by CAPS’ Perth-based Applications Engineer, Melgrace Laudit, the relief program will provide urgent medical supplies, food, and clothing provisions, as well as monetary donations through the Red Cross.

CAPS Provides Disaster ReliefTyphoon Haiyan struck the Philippines late last year, resulting in thousands of deaths in the central Philippines, with more than 650,000 people displaced. Laudit explained that the Philippines disaster is particularly poignant and close to the hearts of CAPS employees. “We have a strong Filipino community across the CAPS team, with a number of our team members having immediate and extended families and friends living there,” she said.

“The call to help rests heavily on our hearts and so we are doing everything we can to provide timely critical relief. The response from the CAPS team has already been outstanding. We have been collecting donations from each of our branches and have a large amount of donation packages being delivered to the Philippines through the Red Cross”.

Laudit concluded, “we understand that the needs of the survivors are massive, but we can all do our part to make a difference in some small way”.
