EQUIPMENT Risk – COMPRESSOR CAPACITY REDUCTION

COMPRESSOR UTILIZATION: Compressor #1 AND #2 are running during periods of low demand where the system’s air supply could easily be met with the #1 VSD compressor.

INSIGHT: The #1 VSD compressor seems to have a capacity limitation. This was determined by looking at the maximum amount of power consumed by the compressor at “full load” and comparing it against the expected power draw at full load as indicated by the motor nameplate (177.4 kW).
